DAY 15
It is the last day of studio project,
last night we overnighted in school to rush for our rendering and compositing.
manage to complete it.
i did the breakdown for shot 02.
and i helped akid out with shot 08 (demolition scene).

Well for our last day,
we decided to write about our conclusion about the project.
Firstly i think we kinda misunderestimated the time span given,
thus we had to overnight one night to rush.
managed to get everything done but still not quite up to our expected standard.

also for my experience this time, i find it rather interesting as we realise there are a few ways to do things instead of just one or two.
cause of the smoke, which the lecturers guided nick i learn that the variations of methods to do work can be different.

also i get to work with an awesome team !

DAY 14
today akid came to class telling us that he got smoke footages already.
so he helped me in putting in the smoke effects for our shot 09.
then i edited the dust more to match it, and passed the file to nick to composite in the building parts.

also i did the powerpoint slides for the presentation too
and updated the blog.

DAY 13
i rendered our shot 01 our establishing shot.
then i moved on to shot 09
i added in the barrier too, then i roto out the machines.

then i tried doing the smoke in AE
and actually tried making the smoke as we were looking for other alternatives in case akid couldn't get the stock footage in time for our smoke.

DAY 12
Mr Pang and Mr Michael gave us advises today.
we decided to change the perspective
that makes the building face us.

i did light linking to make the building and barrier have different lightings without affecting each other.

DAY 11
today i continued working on my establishing shot,
but yet there is still something weird about it.

 without clearing up of foreground 
after clearing up of the foreground

discussed with the group over this shot,
but none of us know what makes it look 
added a change of bricks texture by yushi too.
still lacking in something.

shall ask Mr Pang to help us out tmw.

DAY 10
i continued on my establishing shot once again.
 as you can see i m still having problems with the lighting as the building look CG and unrealistic.

i also tried to make the dust and smoke particles in shot 09 with the 3 workers in After Effects.
as the building is demolished, i watched from the reference videos from youtube,
that the dust particles will desperse out rapidly.


akid taught me a way to make the smoke look as though its coming towards the camera, 
which is by scaling it.

DAY 9
i continued on my establishing shot, still having problems with the perspective and lighting.

DAY 8
i model out a barrier today and texture it too 
i did the lighting for the building using akid's IBL.

the establishing shot 1st try out with the CG building, lighting and barrier.

DAY 7
i did rotoscoping and keying today for some of the shots.



i tried the perspective for the establishing shot too.

we are still discussing if we should take off a few floors of the building so that we can scale to make the building bigger.

DAY 5 & 6
we shoot on day 5 but realised alot of unexpected things happened.
E.g. our camera footage was taken in the wrong settings, the footage was too dark and noisy.
and halfway filming it started raining.
quite a few unlucky things happened, even the car was summoned.

As for day 6, we met early to reshoot and everything went on schedule and we finished reshooting earlier than we expected.

DAY 4
started working with the matchmoving.
we couldn't put trackers on the buildings,
so instead we used the windows of the background buildings as our tracking points.
Akid did the matchmove and i do the layout for it.



after i put in the layout, i used a way to erase away the foreground which is actually from the image plane,
to make it look as though the some parts of the background is in front of the CG building.
i used the shader 'Use Background'.

DAY 3
we went our to shoot for our testshot.
i accidentally rub some mud onto our storyboard.
 planning for the angles
a group photo before we leave the place

after we come back to class, 
we started compiling our final previs.
and i do the maya version.
somehow the video couldn't be uploaded into the blog.

DAY 2
we started on the maya previs on that day.
which i did shot 2,5 and 6.

and we decided our previous idea wasn't smooth enough,
so we brainstorm again for a better one.
and finally we decided on this demolition storyline that you can see from the HOME page.

also i did research for nick for the controlled demolition for our scene,
also guided akid on the gantt chart schedule too,
and yushi on the storyboarding.

DAY 1
i am the production manager of Group 1.
and we decide upon the name ' EDNIYUKID' for our group name.
which consist of a few letters from each of our names.
thus i come up with the logo for it,
